Post script from jill.... I love puzzles! My daughter and I spent time talking and puzzling over the holiday. Alas, she has returned to her home and left me with the hard parts. I'll keep you updated as to the progress of this German castle. Don't hold your breath.
The connection is this. A lot of quilters love puzzles. Our pattern, Modern Pickle Relish, is very much like a puzzle in a grid form. I've been really wanting to work on a puzzle lately. I'm not letting myself do it though because I get so absorbed I work on them for hours! Too much else going on right now.

A few years ago my husband and I were traveling in MN and came across a quilt store - of course, we stopped. There was a puzzle quilt pattern. Of course, I bought it and made one for my daughter. I want to make another and use fabrics that represent each member of my extended family and give it away at our next family reunion. It was a very easy pattern but there was a bit of a challenge - keepinge everything straight.
