YouTube Video of Modern Quilt Relish Booth at Quilt Market 2012 Kansas City

Marny here...a new adventure.  We are now trying to learn about videos.  This one is a very simple one exploring our booth at Spring Quilt Market.  Sorry about the camera movement.  Technicalities need to be ironed out.  It remains amazing what an iPhone and YouTube can do in just a few minutes.  Now for learning editing, etc.  Yikes.  It is like opening another can of worms...There is not enough time in a day.
How often do you all head to YouTube to watch videos.  We heard it is now second only to Google itself as a search engine.  Wow!!
Till Tuesday.

International Quilt Market 2012

jill here....Where did the past week go?

We arrived in Kansas City Wednesday afternoon and after a smooth landing,
received help from our friends and former co-workers, Eileen and Janelle.

We plotted and planned, knowing some quilts had to come down for schoolhouse.
Hard work and a birthday were worthy of a celebration!

From left to right, new quilts and samples.

The view straight on with our little office..
a sometime welcome place for weary feet to rest.  (Not just ours!)

Right corner and side, ready for business... Friday, Saturday and Sunday!
We were so fortunate to renew associations with customers and meet many new ones.  It was a great show!  After just a little rest and some new designs, we'll be ready for Houston!

'Till next Tuesday....

New Modern Quilt Relish Patterns & Magazine Reveal

We have so much to reveal and share today!!
Here is our first bit of news.  Janelle gave us a phone call Friday, from the Quilting Connection in Ames, IA.  It is the store we used to work in--full of fabric, full of fun, and all around fantastic.  She was eager to congratulate us on having a quilt published in a magazine on their shelves.  Quite a surprise for our old co-workers to be leafing through the pages and to see our smiling faces looking up at them!

Yes, we have a quilt published in a really wonderful magazine!  The link for the McCall's Quilting America Makes Fast Quilts is here.

Introducing Cafeteria Line!
Cafeteria Line, Modern Quilt Relish.
Our quilt's feature page is here.  There is lots of information on that page.  Including the fact April West did the quilting that you see!  We used the Robert Kaufman's Stockholm fabric in the blue and green color way.  Robin Zingone really hit a home run with the fabric design.
Love that fabric.  It is mixed with a couple of solids.

It features all of our design hallmarks.  Negative Space, Asymmetry, Simple Shapes and the use of Color and Value to create focus and depth.  Can you tell we are practicing our talks for Quilt Market?

The magazine and the fabric (or as close as possible) are available at The Quilting Connection, Ames, IA 515-233-3048.  Tell them Marny and Jill sent you. ;-)  It is a busy shop so keep your fingers crossed.

Can you believe it?  We have even more exciting news.  We wanted to share with you, our readers,
what we are about to debut at Spring Quilt Market in Kansas City.
Today we are just sharing the covers.  In upcoming posts we will go into detail about each one and share photos of other versions.  Our online Pattern Shop is updated, and the Quilting Connection will have some too!  After Market we hope your local shops carry them as well.  Let them know if feel so inclined.  Thank you!.  And without further ado...

Introducing our two new patterns!!

Recipe Cards
Taffy Twists
And now it is off to Quilt Market.  We are eager to see old friends, meet new friends and to see lots of online friends in person!!   We are certain to squeeze in a fair amount of work as well.
Till Tuesday....

Market Samples, Market Patterns

jill here....The weather has been a bit rainy and windy so hard to photograph the last of our new samples.  These are "Salad Bar" remakes in mostly solids with one strip of Westminster's Kaffe Fassett that acts as the overlap accent.

Salad Bar Table Runner with horizontal placement,
in blues and greens.

Looks like its napping!
Scraps on the back to utilize all those little pieces.
You know, everyone always looks at the back!
Salad Bar lap quilt with same accent,
in periwinkle blue and red violets.
Love the quilting pattern.

Bow Tie Pasta With a Twist in Dear Stella Palladium.

Graphic backing, utilizing leftover blocks plus scraps

Mostly soft and mellow....
Quilting pantograph looks like branches.
Quilt back of Taffy Twists....yet to be revealed.
We'll show you next week, come market.
We're getting our bags packed with great anticipation.  We'll keep you posted!  'Till next Tuesday....

New versions, new patterns for Modern Quilt Relish

Marny here...today is kind of gray with a promise of sunshine and warmth.
Wait, I'm supposed to sit on the quilt remember?
Our new version of the TV Dinner Throw size.  Fun Alexander Henry print in the border and accenting the TV Dinner trays.

Another look.

Yep, two new patterns.  They will be called Recipe Cards and Taffy Twists.

A little sneak peek at Recipe Cards.  We'll be showing these quilts in detail soon.
