Wow! It was a busy week. We feel affirmed, excited and just a little tired. Our AQS launch with the Quilting Connection's help was successful by our standards...and even fun. We are grateful to so many of our co-workers, friends and family for their support and enthusiasm. We know our market is different and that is what we're aiming for: modern quilters of the world, here we come.
Modern Quilt Relish's mission is to create simply sophisticated patterns for the contemporary quilter that are fun to execute. The six patterns are understandable for both the verbal and visual learner and translate well to a classroom or retreat setting. Patterns (retail) will be available via this site using PayPal or credit cards. This service is a work in progress so stay tuned. (Update! We are fully operational and receiving orders. In fact our first orders are heading to the post office now. Such fun for us.)
The winner of this week's comment is Amy, going as a mom for Halloween! The question for this next week (and the winner of MQR106) : What is your favorite color combination?
I'm so glad every thing went well at the show and am looking forward to seeing photos soon - off now to check the patterns out ;0)
ReplyDeleteOh just confirmed what pattern will be winging it's way to me Modern Pickle Relish - LOVE IT - I'll watch for it arriving in the post soon - thank you both again
ReplyDeleteThese patterns look awesome. Too bad my budget won't comply just yet! For color combinations, I tend to lean toward brights. Bright pink/teal/yellow/orange etc. But I just started a quilt that is red, gray and white, with a little black, and I'm loving it!
ReplyDeleteSo great to see the patterns! I especially like the Modern Pickle Relish. Do you think of the pattern first or the name first?
ReplyDeleteRight now my favorite color combos are either orange and blue or black with bright solids.
Penny asked about our naming...When we decided to describe our company using relish (verb or noun) we thought it would be fun to use food terms for our quilt names. The names followed the creation of the quilts. There is a lot of food out there and we like it so it seems a natural! jill
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the launch of the patterns! They look fresh and new and modern.
ReplyDeleteI am obsessed with dove gray and white mixed with just about any medium bright (like chartreuse or yellow or tangerine).
Congratulations on the terrific patterns. Cant wait to order "Bow tie Pasta with a twist". Very exciting designs and I've very excited for you both!
ReplyDeleteI have discovered gray and aqua and red are really great together. I love your patterns. I drooled over them at the DM quilt show. Hope you have them for sale, I have a couple favorites.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the great launch and best wishes for success--though from the initial look, I don't think you'll need it.
ReplyDeleteI love the earth tones. My wardrobe has always been browns, golds, rust colors and it seems most of my quilts seem to be the same colors. It's easy to guess that fall is my favorite time of year.
There seems to be a slight glitch in the ordering system. We'll be working on it tomorrow (Tuesday) so hold on...My technical advisor (Marny) is at work. Thanks for your inquiries, jill
ReplyDeleteHi to everyone, the Leftovers button is fixed. The html code was wrong--now I hope it is right. Sorry for the inconvenience. Marny
